Call of Duty 2: Big Red One earned "Outstanding Achievement in Story and Character Development" and The Movies was named "Simulation Game of the Year."

"We're honored that Call of Duty 2: Big Red One and The Movies have been recognized by the Academy for the hard work, creative innovation and commitment to gameplay of the developers and teams at Activision," said Robin Kaminsky, head of global brand management, Activision Publishing, Inc. "To receive these awards from our peers, among such great competition, is a testament to the tireless effort of each member of the Treyarch and Lionhead Studios development teams."

Hosted by famed comedian/actor Jay Mohr, the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences Awards Show was held in conjunction with the D.I.C.E. Summit, an annual meeting of the most creative minds in the video game industry.
